WOOD CANVAS CANOE RESTORATION
Halcyon Canoe is a small shop based in the Monadnock region of southern New Hampshire. We provide professional restoration services for wood canvas canoes to keep beloved family heirlooms beautiful and functional for years to come.
WHAT WE DO
RESTORATION
In an age of disposable goods, wood canvas canoes are uniquely repairable, making them a renewable way to enjoy nature. Canvas can be replaced and repainted, broken ribs can be fixed, and cracked and worn varnish can be stripped and made gleaming once again. Using traditional methods, we can get your century-old family heirloom back on the water and looking beautiful.
Please note:
At this time the shop is not accepting new projects.
CUSTOM PROJECTS
Our workshop is equipped to take on a variety of custom woodworking projects. Whether it's a handmade paddle, a small boat repair, or help and guidance for your own woodworking or boatbuilding project, we encourage you to contact us to discuss what you have in mind.
ABOUT
Annie grew up on the coast of Maine, messing about in boats from an early age. She developed a particular interest in canoes after her first trip paddling the Allagash Wilderness Waterway as a teenager. After graduating from the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, she spent a decade working in general carpentry. She went on to attend the 2-year Wooden Boatbuilding and Restoration Program at IYRS in Newport, RI and apprenticed with several talented canoe builders in the northeast. She started Halcyon Canoe to devote her skills toward keeping these fine old boats on the water to be enjoyed by the next generation.
